Ruby Zinsmeister has been in the Event industry for almost six years.  It was a vision, education and passion for the industry that moved Ruby to open 1st Impressions special events and conference planning.

She partners with clients and provide services in event concept design & management including: brand management, theme creation and messaging, event marketing strategies, facility & hotel management, exhibits and tradeshows, sponsorship program development and managing commitments, designing companion programs, high-profile special events and hospitality, registration services, contract negotiations, management of suppliers & speakers and on-site management.

This year she had the opportunity to partner with Special Olympics Ontario and the Durham Regional Police Service to work on the Special Olympics Ontario 2008 Provincial Spring Games.  Her role with the Games was Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator.  She did everything from: re-creating the sponsorship prospectus, designing all marketing materials including posters, brochures, postcards, etc., developing relationships with media partnerships, soliciting funds, and managing volunteer committees – the list could go on.

Years of experience, Honours in ‘Specialization in Special Event Management’, innovative new ideas, creativity and a true passion is what you can expect Ruby would bring to your events.

Ruby has held positions of VP Education/Programs, VP Communications and VP of Membership with CanSPEP, Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners. She was responsible for: increasing attendance at monthly educational meetings, raising the bar at the Holiday Gala, developing a new initiative called ‘Executive Chats’ enabling distant members the ability to participate in educational opportunities and Producing Education Day all voluntarily.  Curently she holds memberships with:  CanSPEP, Festivals and Events Ontario and Toastmasters International.

She also teaches Production, Staging and Entertainment Management at Sir Sandford Fleming College and volunteers with Local Youth Groups to produce fundraising activities.
